Visit, Live & Invest in Deniliquin::

Welcome to Deniliquin

Situated adjacent to the magnificent Edward River, once known as the Little Murray which meanders through our town, is certainly the jewel in the crown. We are extremely fortunate to have along our river the beautiful river red gums that make up one of the largest red gum forests in the southern hemisphere.

Our green belt consisting of connecting lagoons and parks is an added bonus to the river and a stroll along the river banks then through our magnificent gardens is a very pleasant walk indeed.

Deniliquin was established in 1842 where drovers moved mobs of cattle and sheep across a low part of the river. This was called The Crossing Place. Later on, a punt was installed to move people and goods north and south of the river. Deniliquin then became the focus for a regional centre.

Plenty of sunshine and lovely weather offers us an opportunity to be involved in all the sports and activities available here in town and there are plenty.
The arts and cultural activities are strongly supported by a large number of devoted people. Our annual Easter Art Show has grown to be known wide and far for its quality and brilliance.

The Visitor Information Centre operates seven days a week with the valuable assistance of a great group of volunteers and is a must for everyone to see. The volunteers will direct visitors to the other local landmarks, walks, clubs, hotels and the other Museum in Macaulay Street - the Old Police Residence.

Don't forget to ask about our famous Deni Play on the Plains Festival and World Record Ute Muster held on the flattest open plains on earth. Every year the Festival is staged during the NSW Labor Day Long Weekend in October.

We look forward to your visit and hope you have fun being able to "Do It In Deni".
