Although only a relatively small community in terms of population, the town of Jerilderie retains its place in Australian History and today provides and enjoys many facilities and amenities not found in towns of a similar size.

It caters well for the recreational needs of the community with an 18 hole grass green golf course, bowling greens, a lake for water sports, six tennis courts, a modern indoor sports complex and swimming pool, ample park land and a turf track race course.

Other major service facilities include a hospital, Pharmacy, a pre-school/community centre, Balmeringa units for the aged, two primary schools, police station, an ambulance station and a medical centre. The entertainment needs of the community are covered by the three hotels and Sports Club. Accommodation is also catered for by the three motels, hotels, caravan park as well as two Bed & Breakfasts.

The Jerilderie Visitors Centre is located at 63 Jerilderie Street within the Sticky Fingers Candy Shop, where you can pick up maps and information, as well as some souvenirs. Several of the local businesses also provide several local brochures and maps.
