Pittwater Social Plan

Connect Participate

At its meeting on 2 July 2012, Council adopted the Pittwater Social Plan 2012-2016 "Live, Connect, Participate".

The social plan aims to enhance the liveability, strengthen connections and facilitate participation across the Pittwater community.

The intent of a Social Plan is to describe the local community at a particular point in time, whilst summarising key social needs and priority areas.

The key difference with this Social Plan is the integration into Council's overall planning and delivery progress. The Plan does not contain recommendations or actions as such, but rather highlights and identifies key themes, priorities, challenges and opportunities. The series of discussion papers provide detailed profiles of key social priorities and will be used over the next four years to develop responsive actions within Council's delivery program and budget.

The Pittwater Social Plan 2012-2106 has since received a Highly Commended citation in the LGMA Excellence Awards in 2013.

This Plan is a dynamic document (see timetable), designed to remain responsive to the community's changing needs with an emerging issues paper developed each year.

The integration of this Plan is depicted in the diagram below. Click on any of the headings in the diagram to view the different elements of the Plan.
