In 2010, the dramatic economic and political events that played out on the world and regional stages were posing challenges for the energy sector. As trading evolved, energy trading companies were putting more focus on risk management and seeking new techniques in measuring, and managing risks in the midst of the economic turmoil.
Energising WA, the inaugural event for WA SEA, brought delegates up to speed with the latest renewable energy technologies and practices. The two-day event gathered leading experts from energy companies, investment banks, regulators, top academics and energy traders to discuss the developments and major issues effecting the industry.

The Sustainable Energy Association of Australia (SEA) is a chamber of enterprises providing the commercial solution to climate change through their products and services, or that aspire to be more sustainable in their own energy use, inclusive of businesses offering or using services and products that manage or offset greenhouse gas emissions in transition to sustainable energy use.
SEA now has more than 375 industry members from most industry sectors and SEA is now the largest energy chamber in Australia. Members come from a diversity of companies, businesses, and organisations involved in sustainable energy practices and including energy efficiency across government, business and the community in: infrastructure; architecture and design of; transport; performance of appliances, vehicles, machinery, and industrial processes; use of renewable energy generation including passive use and solar and hydrothermal hot water.
While WA based, SEA is the only industry body nationally advocating substantive action on sustainable energy across all areas and sectors of Australia’s economy. SEA has a strong reputation in Australia for authoritative commentary and advocacy on a broad range of energy efficiency and sustainable energy issues – many examples of our contribution can be found on our website.
