The Australian Government has welcomed the appointment of Mr Bruce Davis to the new position of Vice President, Administration and Corporate Management at the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Mr Davis is currently Australia’s Ambassador to Ireland and was Director-General of Ausaid from 1999 to 2009, with specific expertise in management and operational reforms.
Born and educated in Queensland, Mr Davis holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science from the University of Queensland.
Mr Davis was named a Member of the Order of Australia in June 2009 for service to international relations through leadership of AusAID and the development and reform of Australia’s overseas aid programs.
The ADB is one of Australia’s key development partners in the region and a major source of development finance for the Asia-Pacific since 1966.
Mr Davis will play an important role in strengthening the ADB's finance and administration functions. He is expected to take up his appointment in early 2013.
