Renowned chef and owner of a T-QUAL endorsed business, Matt Moran visited South Australia last week to experience some of the quality accommodation, tours, attractions and restaurants endorsed by the T-QUAL Tick.

Moran made the visit to South Australia as part of the T-QUAL Tick Tour, which sees him travelling around the country to experience and promote quality tourism operators that have been rigorously assessed to receive the endorsement of Australia’s national symbol of tourism quality – the T-QUAL Tick.

“South Australia has some amazing experiences to offer tourists, travellers and holiday makers, which are now even easier to find - just look for the T-QUAL Tick,” said Moran.

Mary Anne Kennedy of A Taste of South Australia Wine Tours took Moran on a customised food and wine tour that explored many other T-QUAL endorsed operators in the region including Haigh's Chocolate Visitors Centre, which combines heritage displays with delicious complimentary chocolate tastings; Hahndorf Hill Winery, a boutique producer in the Adelaide Hills specialising in alternative, food-friendly wines; and the spectacular twenty-six acre bushland sanctuary of Sinclair's Gully Cellar Door.

Moran also experienced a handful of the many T-QUAL endorsed restaurants on offer in the city of Adelaide. Mapo Korean Restaurant provided a unique fusion of Korean and Western ideologies and local organic produce. At Celsius Restaurant and Bar Moran was spoiled with a five course silver service dinner which was followed by a delicious pizza lunch at Good Life Pizza.

“What many people probably don’t realise about Adelaide is the fantastic range of quality dining experiences available. Whether you want a quick bite to eat at a local café, a full degustation menu or a fine-dining experience, this city really has it all,” commented Moran.

South Australia also offers no end of diversity in options for accommodation. Moran stayed at the luxurious Sebel Playford Adelaide, a 5-star award winning hotel in the heart of Adelaide, followed by a night in the Fire Station Inn where his room included a real fire truck!

Mark Gleeson took Moran on the Adelaide Central Market Tour to experience the freshest South Australian produce direct from local suppliers and growers. Last stop was the Adelaide Zoo to see the amazing Giant and Red Pandas.

“Visiting South Australia on the T-QUAL Tick Tour was a real eye-opener,” added Moran. “Although I’ve visited the state a number of times, it was fantastic to be able to experience the real diversity of T-QUAL endorsed products on offer here. I’ll know what to look for when I come back – the T-QUAL Tick!”
